Villa Vacations On Lanzarote
Lanzarote is one of the most popular self catering holiday destinations in Spain. Thanks to the fact the there are some excellent rental properties here and a buoyant British tourist market, fuelled by the availability of cheap flights to the island from the UK.
There are in fact thousands of holiday villas in Lanzarote for prospective visitors to choose from. With prices starting from as little as €350 per week for a basic two bedroom property with private swimming pool. Ranging through to €2000 per week for much larger and more luxurious dwellings.
Puerto del Carmen villas are particularly popular with visitors from the UK. As this is the resort that the British flock to year after year, with a good array of bars and restaurants, as well as rental accommodation options. Los Mojones is the most sought after location as it is very central yet still manages to retain quite a nice villagey feel. Offering peace and quiet alongside instant access to the resorts amenities and facilities.
Villas in Playa Blanca are also very popular with this market as they offer excellent value for money. Whilst the resort itself boasts a great climate and wonderful beaches. Making it a real red hot favourite during the winter months especially.
It´s become a lot easier and cheaper over the last year to find good value flights to the island. EasyJet started services back in 2008 and Ryanair launched a number of flights in November 2009, all of which have proved very popular with excellent uptake. Other airlines such as Monarch and Thomas Cook also offer regular services to the island. Expect to pay from about €100 return per person depending on the time of the year and the airport you are flying from.
Most villas are located in the main resorts so car hire isn’t essential. But if you are planning to book a rural property then it makes a great deal of sense to hire a car. This is easy to do in advance and there are also plenty of car hire companies located in the main arrivals hall at Arrecife airport. Rental rates are pretty cheap and start at about €15 per day. Remember that you must be over 23 years of age and in possession of a full clean driving licence in order to hire a car here.
It´s possible to enjoy holidays on this island at any time of the year as Lanzarote enjoys a semi tropical climate.
